Managing risk
From Our Toolkit
When planning any activity, whether it is a short-term project or a longer-term business plan it is good practice to assess the risk associated with it. This allows you to then put in place resources or mechanisms to mitigate against it.
Resources to support you to manage risk include:
- The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) has a step by step guide to assessing risk in your organisation
- Risk Awareness Profiling Tool (RAPT) – this online tool to help assess the level of risk awareness in your organisation
- Share Museums East – Forward Planning – A practical guide for museums – Section 3.9 in this guide focuses on risk assessment (pages 21 & 22)
