Volunteer induction
From Our Toolkit
Providing volunteers with an introduction to their role and your organisation is an important first step. A volunteer’s induction should either take place before they start or as soon as possible after they start.
NCVO’s Involving Volunteers and Volunteer Now both provide a checklist of information to include in an induction.
Information included in the induction should be tailored to your organisation but remember not to overload with too much information! Information provided during the induction can be provided verbally and then backed up with a written version which the new volunteer can refer to.
