Scottish F.A. Cup Results Collection

Queen's Park, Scottish FA Cup Champions 1873-74
The Beautiful Dribbling Game

My passion for Scottish Football history started at an early age, and, over a period of some 40+ years of on off research, I have collated the most extensive and accurate Scottish F.A. Cup results collection available anywhere. For the most part, this effort entailed countless hours spent in libraries across the country, leafing through old newspaper archives or winding endless microfilm. Although today’s research has been made easier with the advent of many online digital resources, such as the British Newspaper Archives, a handful of elusive results, and match dates remain.

My collection is available at the web link provided and contains around 20,000 results stretching back from the competition’s opening day ties played on Saturday, October 18th, 1873, also my birthday (destiny?), to those of this season.  Take a trip down memory lane with images of Cup winning teams, and Cup final video clips including 1930s Pathé footage.

An all-time record summary is provided for each club ever to have entered the competition.  These include the long since defunct names such as the Harmonic Good Templars, Belstane Birds, Albatross, Athenians, Gladstonians, Coylton Coila, and hundreds more.

As season 2023-24 will mark the competition’s 150th anniversary, I have written to S.F.A. offering them my results collection gratis, as I believe its permanent home should be on their website.
