South Lanarkshire Council

The Low Parks Museum buildings include the Duke of Hamilton’s Riding School which, during its life, was also used as a boxing training club. The purpose-built Fives Court, which adjoins our 18th century Assembly Room, is one of very few such buildings to house the sport in Scotland.

The museum collection includes the Lanark Silver Bell, one of the oldest racing trophies in Scotland. Sporting cups, trophies and medals from areas across South Lanarkshire donated by amateurs and Olympians, as well as sporting medals, trophies and photographs from The Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) feature within the collections of South Lanarkshire.

Our online collection browser offers visitors an opportunity to look through our digitised collections from home while temporary displays offer an exciting and regularly changing exhibition program.
