Oswestry Town Museum

Oswestry Town Museum aims to celebrate the history and heritage of Oswestry and the surrounding area. Part of this involves celebrating some of the people who have achieved sporting prominence. Included are Malcom Tarkenter who gained Paralympic silver, World Championship silver and European gold and silver for Britain in wheelchair basketball. Oswestry Town Football Club. Norman Morgan who played for Llanymynech FC and Welshpool FC and whose son Brian started as a 17 year old guardsman with the Welsh Guards and who retired as a Lt. Colonel. Oswestry Technical Institute winning the Shropshire AAA Cross Country Championships in 1949. Ian Woosnam the Ryder Cup golfer. As we obtain further material we will expand our collection.
