Royal Life Saving Society UK

The Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK) has a long history of helping to save the number of lives lost to drowning and our impressive sporting heritage is one of only a few, with humanism at its very heart.

RLSS UK has built up years of experience and are honoured to boast a strong force of loyal, dedicated members and volunteers, who work with us to promote water safety and educate the public in lifesaving skills.  Our roots were established back in 1891 as the Life Saving Society, and in the early 1900s, with support from the Royal Family, we were granted permission to adopt the ‘Royal’ to our title – a badge that we are still immensely proud of today.

RLSS UK is the charity that enhances communities, so everyone can enjoy being in, on and around water, safely; because every life is worth saving. The lifesaving skills displayed by our competing athletes mirror the vital lifesaving training and education undertaken by our members, volunteers and partners in every city, town, community and household.

Our sporting collection boasts trophies, silverware, medals, photographs, programmes and results (found on our website).

Our vision is nations without drowning.
