Become a Sporting Heritage Supporter!

Whether you’ve previously been a valued membership holder, are part of the Sporting Heritage community, or wish to support our work, helping to meet the needs of sporting collections and related organisations in the UK, we now invite you to Become a Sporting Heritage Supporter.

Over the last two years we’ve been working to update our business model and make sure we’re delivering in the best way for the sector. As part of that change, we will no longer be running the Sporting Heritage Membership programme, and instead switching to a Supporters model.

Many of you will know that we are a small team that punches massively above our weight in terms of support for the sector, and we do this with no core funding from government (or elsewhere) to meet the support needs of sporting collections and related organisations across the UK.

We have decided to move away from the ‘membership’ model of our organisation to a more flexible way of encouraging those that benefit from our work to support us and contribute to our running costs. Therefore, we are implementing a ‘supporters’ scheme whereby anyone who finds our activity of benefit can contribute to our costs at an amount that suits – similar to a ‘pay as you feel’ arrangement.

We support a broad spectrum of organisations from the single volunteer with a sporting heritage collection in their spare bedroom to large sports focused museums. This approach seemed most sensible to meet the needs of these smaller and larger sporting heritage collections alike.

If your membership has recently renewed or is coming up for renewal thank you for your support over the years! The system will stop taking automatic payments from now, but we would be so very much indebted if you were able to still back our work, through the supporters scheme. In practice this is a straightforward ‘pay as you feel’ option, all you need to do is click the link below and choose the gift option which fits with you or your organisation.
