Bursary Scheme

Thanks to players of The National Lottery and The National Lottery Heritage Fund, we are able to launch a bursary programme to support activity which involved developing skills, knowledge, or networking via a travel bursary.

Applicants must demonstrate that their activity would be impossible without this financial support, and outline the impact the activity would have on their work and that of the collection they work with.

We want to make the scheme work for you and support your attendance with the minimal amount of time and cost.

Individuals may apply for support to cover all or any of the following:

• standard train fare / bus fare or mileage at 45p per mile up to a maximum of £150
• basic accommodation up to two nights and a value of £75 per night where travel to and from the venue is impossible in one day

Funding requests should be no more that £250 in total.

Funding will be paid in arrears on receipt of an invoice made to Sporting Heritage with the attachment of all associated receipts and supporting documents.

We expect applications to the travel bursary scheme to exceed the funding we have available.

Applications are open on a rolling basis. Decisions will be made quarterly. We may make exceptions to access an application where is it time limited / urgent.
