Sports Museum - Finalist in Museum of the Year Award

The newly opened National Heritage Centre for Horse Racing and Sporting Art was pipped at the post by the Hepworth Wakefield for the prestigious Arts Fund award. To see a Sports Museum represented as a finalist was a first, and demonstrates the changing perception of the role and value of sport as a subject matter for museums.
