Sharing Stories Study Days

This year we ran Sharing Stories in-person study events at Stirling University and Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum.  The aim of these days was to bring people together from across the sporting, heritage, volunteer and academic sectors to examine how we each share stories about the people, organisations and achievements that make up our shared sporting heritage.

For resources from the Sharing Stories at Stirling University day please see the Sporting Heritage Scotland pages. The resources from the event at Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum are below.

We had a packed day of presentations, discussion and networking at Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum. We would like to thank National Lottery Heritage Fund and the team at Wimbledon for making this event possible.

Sharing stories

All of our discussions centred around the different ways we can share stories. The day opened with an ‘in conversation’ chat between Sporting Heritage Ambassador Amazin LeThi and Dr Justine Reilly. Amazin talked about her story, her experiences of prejudice and the impact it had on her, and the importance of seeing yourself represented and supported in current sports as well as sporting heritage. You can find out more about Amazin’s amazing work as an advocate on her website.

This discussion was followed by a series of case studies. The slide decks for which are available below.

Sporting Heritage plans & our sponsors

After a networking lunch we returned for an update from Dr Justine Reilly on Sporting Heritage’s plans for 2024 which include the return of our popular Art of Sporting Heritage month, as well as the Sporting Heritage Awards and annual Conference. To keep up to date on news our future events please make sure you are signed up to our newsletter.
