Our next network meeting is as follows:
Wednesday 25th September, 10.30am – 12.30pm – online via Zoom
Then this is the event from you!
Join Sporting Heritage’s Fran Stovold and guest speaker, Audiences expert, Emma Parsons(pictured left) as they focus on understanding audiences and how we can reach new audiences. During the session they will be sharing key case studies from others in the sector who have succesfully developed their audience profile, sharing both what worked and what didn’t!
We will also be joined by two receipients of Sporting Heritage Community grants:
- Dr Fiona Reid from Bayfirth Research CIC who is working with Scottish Women and Girls’ Cricket Research Network and Cricket Scotland on a project to enable the pioneers of women’s and girl’s cricket in Scotland to tell their stories for the first time.
- Dr Brigid Power who is working with Leeds Irish Health and Homes on their project to uncover and share the origins of Gaelic Football in Leeds
They will be talking about their work and how it will enable them to engage with new and existing audiences.
The session will provide advice and guidance on how to establish who your exisiting audience is, and how to them make plans to expand this, and within your organisations means and capacity.
There will be a Q&A session and opportunities to discuss key threats and opportunities to both your own organisation in terms of audiences, and the sector as a whole.
There will also be time for network breakout sessions to discuss the theme of audience development in more depth in rooms which will include:
- Nations focus
- Sport focus – for example Football Heritage and Rugby League Heritage
- National Collections of Sport
- Heritage Champions – sports clubs and governing bodies representatives
Our networking events are free of charge to all delegates, but for organisational purposes we do ask that you only book a space if you are able to attend.
