Podcast - Introducing the Disability and Women's Sports project

Sporting Heritage CIC has recently launched it’s Disability and Women’s Sports project, funded by Sport England. It aims to help identify, preserve and celebrate sporting heritage collections, notably the rich heritage of disability sport and women’s sports in England.
In this podcast, recorded remotely during the Covid-19 lockdown, Dr Justine Reilly, Director of Sporting Heritage CIC, along with Brigid Power and Julia Lee from the project team, tells us all about the project and what they hope to achieve.
Central to the project, is the aim of uncovering and celebrating some of the many wonderful hidden stories of those who have been involved in disability and women’s sport over the years. And Julia recalls her own incredible story; in becoming the first female to referee men’s rugby league in Great Britain and Australia.
