A century of women in Civil Service Sport

A century of women in Civil Service Sport

In this episode of the Sporting Heritage of Disability and Women’s Sport project, Hedley Featherstone from the Civil Service Sports Council (CSSC) provides a flavour of the role played by women in civil service sports participation, excellence, administration and governance since its founding in November 1921:

– some of the key figures in securing representation of women in civil service sports governance
– some of the achievements of elite athletes at Commonwealth and Olympic Games
– the key milestones and events of the last 100 years

Despite the pandemic a range of activities are planned to mark the CSSC’s centenary and Hedley provides a taste of what is in store, with full details on the CSSC website: www.cssc.co.uk
