With the likes of Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart, and Colin McRae in their midst, Scotland has long been synonymous with motorsport. As such, plans for a motorsport heritage centre at the Rest and Be Thankful rally and hillclimb stage are maybe unsurprising, and have been welcomed by local councillors, along with great champions of the past such as Jimmy McRae.
The plan is to combine a permanent exhibition space with a community resource that can be used for events, along with offering space for retail and cafe facilities.
Set within the fantastic scenery, it’s hoped the new space would generate further tourism to the area.
